New Anonymous Video Exposes Scientology's Volunteer Ministers

The true purpose of the Church of Scientology's Volunteer Ministers is to recruit new members into Scientology. The Volunteer Minister program was designed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard as a tool for the covert dissemination of Scientology, and for manufacturing positive press and propaganda.

Scientology's Volunteer Ministers have been seen most recently in the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated Haiti, as have high-profile Scientology celebrities John Travolta and Kelly Preston. The Volunteer Ministers operate under the pretense of aiding disaster victims with Scientology's medically-unfounded "touch assist" maneuver.

Scientology's corporate documents clearly state the reason for deploying Volunteer Ministers is recruitment. L. Ron Hubbard himself defined the Volunteer Minister Program as "straight recruiting" and his writings teach that disasters are prime opportunities for taking advantage of people whose lives have been ruined.

A leaked video from a 2004 meeting of the International Association of Scientologists strongly reinforces this policy and shows that it is still in practice. Remarks from Scientology's Chairman of the Board, David Miscavige, and from Scientology's Executive Director International, Guillaume LeSevre, highlight the sinister intent of the Volunteer Minister program to an arena of cheering Scientologists, including Tom Cruise.

LeSevre boasts that the Volunteer Ministers are "the LRH Undercut Program for everywhere, the starting point on how we get every activity going into any area." The Scientologist crowd applauds as they watch animated video of Volunteer Minister tents taking over the world, virally reproducing and spreading. LeSevre proclaims that the Volunteer Ministers delivered Scientology literature and practices to over 500,000 people that year alone.

Anonymous salutes the reputable relief organizations and their volunteers who truly desire to help the victims of the Haitian disaster. However, Anonymous knows that the Volunteer Ministers are not in Haiti to help, but to exploit. We believe that legitimate relief agencies are hindered by the Volunteer Ministers' cynical, hidden agenda. We believe that the public is being deceived by Scientology - yet again - and we invite the world to examine the evidence against Scientology, presented by Scientology's leaders themselves, in this video.
