QUESTION: Has the State Department heard from the Swiss Government regarding the Department of Justice’s recent action against Wegelin and Co.?

ANSWER: We have a strong bilateral relationship with Switzerland and maintain a wide-ranging dialogue with the Government of Switzerland on a variety of issues of mutual interest. This matter involves allegations of criminal wrongdoing by a particular institution and its employees. We refer you to the Department of Justice for any further questions related to this case.
