Organisations participate in Global March to Jerusalem

Press Release
British Solidarity Organisations participate in Global March to Jerusalem

London: 10th Feb 2012
A number of Islamic, Arab and British Palestinian solidarity organisations will meet this Monday 13th Feb to discuss plans for activities of the Global March to Jerusalem. The meeting is on the invitation of the Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB), the Association of Palestinian Community (APC) and the British Muslim Initiative (BMI). These organisations, alongside many other British solidarity organisations, have announced their intention for active participation in the Global March to Jerusalem by organising a large protest in front of the Israeli embassy in London and sending delegations to participate in the huge March which planned to take place in the bordering countries of Palestine, as to condemn the Judaization, apartheid and ethnic cleansing committed by Israel against Jerusalem and its people in particular and against Palestinians in the Occupied Territories in general.

Dr. Hafez Karmi, chairman of the PFB, said that this meeting is part of a bigger gathering which will include all European committees and organisations participating in the March to Jerusalem. The PFB will host the said meeting in London on the 21st Feb, where European efforts will be coordinated to ensure the participation of as many people as possible in the March and its activities whether in European capitals or through travelling to Palestine or its surrounding countries where hundreds of thousands of participants in Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt will march to the nearest point to Jerusalem.

Sarah Colborne, The Executive Director of Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) announced at the end of January that a huge March will take place in front of the Israeli embassy in London as part of the GMJ. She invited all British people to actively join the protest.

It worth to mention that The Global March to Jerusalem will take place on Friday 30th March 2012 where hundreds of committees and campaigns all over the six continents will participate in order to highlight the suffering the people of Jerusalem are going through as a result of the occupation’s Zionist and racist practices. The slogan of the March will be “Peoples of the world demand the freedom for Jerusalem... People of the world demand to end the occupation of Palestine”.
