Haniyeh Call for Independent Investigation of Arafat's Death
Palestinian government in Gaza called for the formation of
an independent Arab Commission to investigate the death of
President Yasser Arafat and to prosecute those responsible
for his death after a Swiss Institute found "surprisingly"
high levels of polonium-210 in the iconic leader's clothing
following an examination for an Al Jazeera documentary that
was aired Tuesday.

The movement congratulated the Arab Republic of Egypt after the presidential election success, and congratulated Muhammad Mursi on his victory in Egypt's presidential election, confirming that "Palestine and the Gaza Strip are completely ready to fully cooperate with Egypt in various political, security and economic fields."
Meanwhile, the Palestinian government in Gaza condemned the continued settlement expansion process in the West Bank, saying that "This is a war crime punishable by international law."
