American Samoa features in Go Holidays brochure

American Samoa has been included for the first time in Go Holidays 2013-2014 Samoa & American Samoa brochure. Go Holidays is one of a number of New Zealand travel wholesalers that sell the South Pacific to holiday travelers and is part of the global Stella Group of companies. American Samoa Visitor’s Bureau executive director, David Vaeafe said the inclusion of American Samoa in such brochures was part of the agency’s strategy to partner with key international travel trade industry members to promote and sell our destination. “Last year, a Go Holidays representative visited American Samoa when we hosted a group of seven New Zealand travel wholesalers and from that visit we have been able to negotiate the inclusion of American Samoa in their Samoa product. They saw the potential we had as a destination and with our close proximity to Samoa, travelers have the option of combining the two destinations into one holiday”, he said. American Samoa’s inclusion in the brochure features a general introduction page with travel tips, map and sightseeing section featuring tour options with local industry businesses Pago Pago Marine Charters, North Shore Tours and Alofa’s Tours, starting from NZD$76 per person and accommodation options with Sadie’s by the Sea, Tradewinds Hotel, Moana O Sina and Turtle & Shark Lodge starting from NZD$88 per person per night. All the hotels featured include a range of bonuses from return airport transfers, stay 5 nights pay 4 nights, complimentary room upgrades for honeymooners, free wi-fi and complimentary laundry and breakfast starter packs. “Go Holidays distributes its brochures and promotes its destinations through a number of retail travel agencies throughout New Zealand and as a subsidiary of the Stella Group, other travel companies owned by Stella worldwide also have access to the rates and products offer that they can also sell to their clients”, said Vaeafe. Inclusion of American Samoa advertising in the Go Holidays 2013-2014 Samoa & American Samoa brochure was made possible by grant funding from he Department of Interior Office of Insular Affairs.

ASVB to attend Flight Centre Travel
Expo's in New Zealand

The American Samoa Visitors Bureau will once again attend the annual Flight Centre Travel Expo’s in New Zealand next month to promote the territory to travelers seeking a South Pacific escape for the winter holidays. This will be the forth year the ASVB has attended these consumer travel shows, the largest in the New Zealand market place. The first show will be in Wellington on February 10th and the second will be in Auckland on February 16th & 17th. ASVB executive director David Vaeafe said in the New Zealand market place we are promoting American Samoa as a add on excursion to a Samoa holiday. “This year we have some great holidays deals to American Samoa which include return airfares Apia to Pago Pago and 2 or 3 nights accommodation starting in price from NZD$499 per person share twin. First cruise ship for 2013
calls in next week
The first cruise ship to visit Pago Pago Harbor for the 2013 season will be Phoenix Reisen’s ‘Artania’ arriving Thursday January 31st. The ship will arrive from Bora Bora, French Polynesia Apia at 12.00 noon and depart for Apia, Samoa at 9.00pm. Carrying up to 1200 passengers and 420 crew the ship is on a 30 night cruise from Acapulco, Mexico to Sydney, Australia. While in port passengers will take tour excursions, dine out at local restaurants and shop around the town area and at the vendors market set up on the port. 2013 will see a total of 16 ships visiting American Samoa from January to November.
