Measuring Impact Beyond the Bottom Line

Measuring Impact Beyond the Bottom Line - Business School to Light Up Vivid Festival of Ideas with Strategicframe

The University of Sydney Business School will unveil a revolutionary new framework for measuring and improving the performance of commercial, not-for-profit and government enterprises during this year’s Vivid festival of ideas.

StrategicFrame, developed by the Business School’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Research Group, guides users through an evaluation process which assists them to achieve their mission and objectives.

The Federal Government, through the Productivity Commission and the Departments of Prime Minister and Cabinet and Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, has shown interest in StrategicFrame as a means of measuring its impact on stakeholders nationwide.

“StrategicFrame empowers creative sector organisations to measure their impact in a way that will satisfy financial supporters,” said the Business School’s Associate Professor Richard Seymour. “It also provides them with a means to articulate the many merits of enterprise activities beyond their dollar value.”

Beyond government, the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Research Group has been working with over a dozen organisations in the creative industries, indigenous business, social enterprise, as well as commercial ventures.

The Vivid Ideas StrategicFrame workshop will focus on the specific needs and circumstances of the creative sector, which now employs more than 150,000 people in New South Wales.

Facilitated by the Business School’s Dr Richard Seymour, the workshop will include a panel discussion with representatives of organisations that have used StrategicFrame to measure their impact. The panel will include Sienna Balakrishnan of Milk Crate Theatre and Robyn Ayres of Arts Law.
