Two Wounded, One Dead In Papua Ambulance Ambush
An ambulance carrying 11 passengers, was shot by an unidentified group of armed men, injuring two and killing one, said a military official.
Cenderawasih Military Command spokesman Col. Lismer Luman Siantar said the three victims were passengers who were sitting next to the driver. He said the ambulance was en route from Tingginambut to the Mulia General Hospital in Mulia subdistrict, Puncak Jaya.
"The passengers are identified as Erik Yoman, 25, medical officer Prins Baransano, 30, and the driver, Darson, 25," he told The Jakarta Post, adding that all the victims were currently at the Mulia General Hospital.
No information is currently available regarding efforts to pursue those responsible for the attack.
