Eid ul Fitr Message – Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at NZ

Eid ul Fitr Message – Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at New Zealand

By the Grace of Allah, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at New Zealand will be celebrating their Eid ul Fitr tomorrow Friday, 09 August 2013.

The community will be conducting the Eid ul Fitr prayers at Baitul Muqeet Mission Centre, 20 Dalgety Drive, Manukau at 9.00am.

Eid ul Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadhan. It gives Muslims a day to celebrate a great achievement which they make in the form of winning the pleasure of their Lord and Creator, Almighty God, by fasting and carrying out acts of virtue during Ramadhan. One of the greatest blessings of Ramadhan is that the believers, by suffering hunger and thirst themselves are filled with the spirit of sympathy towards the less fortunate sections of society. If fellow feeling is the lesson learnt during Ramadhan then how can Eid ul Fitr be truly celebrated without showing its practically? In this regard, we find our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to be at the forefront of showing extreme compassion to the less fortunate ones.

The National President of the Community, Mr. Mohammed Iqbal said “By Allah’s grace Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in all parts of the world pass through Ramadhan by doing virtuous acts that is meant to last forever. We celebrate Eid with the true spirit of compassion for our fellow human beings as was taught by the Holy Prophet of Islam Muhammad (peace be upon him). To display the above spirit Ahmadi Muslims around the world presents gifts to the poor, orphans and prisoners as part of Eid celebrations. They also visit the hospitals and old homes on the Eid day. In order to share the Eid celebrations with the less-fortunate ones, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community New Zealand in line with their tradition worldwide, is donating (to WINZ) 50 food parcels on Eid day, each containing enough dry food to meet the needs of a deserving family for few days.”

On behalf of the Community, Mr. Iqbal extends his heartiest Eid greetings to all Muslims and fellow New Zealanders and may they celebrate this blessed day in the true spirit as was taught by the Holy Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him).
