UN Chief 'Following Closely and With Alarm' the Attack in Nairobi
New York, Sep 21 2013 - Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has spoken with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta about today's attack on a shopping centre in the capital city of Nairobi.
Mr. Ban "is following closely and with alarm" the developments and is being regularly briefed by his senior advisers, a United Nations spokesperson said in media note.
Mr. Ban expressed to President Kenyatta his concern, according to the spokesperson.
He also offered his solidarity as the Kenyan authorities handle the incident.
