Muslim Brotherhood: Putschists' Intention to Blow up Schools

Muslim Brotherhood Statement on Putschists' Intention to Blow up Egypt Schools

As children get ready for the start of a new academic year, pro-military media outlets report explosions destroying Egypt’s schools, before they happen!

Putschists in Egypt have repeatedly used subservient media to prepare public opinion for terrorist acts they intend to carry out and blame on the Muslim Brotherhood to demonize them and incite people against them.

Egypt witnessed several examples of that maneuver, such as the announcement, in a satellite TV channel owned by one of Mubarak’s cronies, that the Science Academy near Tahrir Square had been torched. It had not been at all attacked or harmed – as yet. But only two hours later, it was burnt down.

There was also the announcement that Azbakeya and Boulaq Al-Dakrour (Cairo) police stations had been torched. Again, they had not been harmed in any way – as yet. Then, only half an hour after the announcement they were attacked and burnt.

If anything, this confirms the violence is the result of a co-ordinated plot carried out by those in power.

Now, some military-controlled satellite TV channels are reporting that explosions will blow up some of Egypt’s schools shortly. We affirm that these announcements serve several targets, all of which are heinous and traitorous:

- They can be used as a pretext to postpone the start of the new academic year, as the putschists fear assembly and action by revolutionary students against the military junta.

- They incite people against the Muslim Brotherhood.

- They terrorize citizens into complete submission to the putschists, reflecting the maximum force approach they used in the cold-blooded massacres carried out by the coup, which killed and wounded thousands of peaceful protester. They think nothing of killing and injuring tens or hundreds more.

The Muslim Brotherhood affirm their total and complete innocence of any blood that may be spilled, lives lost or terror spread. They believe in God’s Words:

“Whoever kills a human being, except as punishment for murder or for causing turmoil in the land, so it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoever saves one life, it shall be as if he saved the life of all mankind.” [Quran 5:32]

“If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein forever: And the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him.” [Quran 4:93]

The Brotherhood also respect, love and honor all Egyptian brothers and sisters, its members do sacrifice their own comfort, pleasure and wealth for the benefit of all Egyptians. They are Egyptians seeking to liberate their homeland and help its people regain sovereignty, freedom and dignity.

“Help you one another in virtue, righteousness and piety; do not help one another in sin, transgression and rancor.” [Quran 5:2]

If the putschists want to delay the reopening of schools and universities, they should be honest about it, and do just that – postpone studies, without spilling blood and sabotaging the whole country.

The Muslim Brotherhood
