Piether Manggaprouw arrested by Indonesia Police for demonstrating peacefully in Biak
Biak, October 4, 2013 - Piether Manggaprouw was arrested by Indonesian police on October 19, 2013 in the Hall of Indigenous Sorido - Biak.
On the date October 19, 2013, hundreds of people in Biak did a peaceful protest to mark the anniversary of Papua to Congress last October 3, 2012 in the Hall of Indigenous Soriodo, and were forcibly disbanded by the Indonesian police. '40s Masses of people were arrested and taken to police headquarters in Biak. Most of the protesters forced the police to make a statement not to be repeated again for action freedom Papua, and only Police detained Piether Manggaprouw to court.
Police arrested Piether Manggaprouw (54 years old), Coordinator of Biak rally, for immediate examination, because of allegedly criminal acts Makar and conspiracy to commit a crime referred to in article 106 and article 110 of the Criminal Code KHUP of Indonesian.
Piether Manggaprouw has been detained by police for the development of his case file for 20 days from October 20 to 8 November 2013.
