Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel on the German side’s initiative.

Vladimir Putin and Angela Merkel exchanged views on many aspects of the extreme crisis in Ukraine and discussed possible options for international assistance in normalising the socio-political situation in that nation.
