Major General TNI Torry Djohar Banguntoro.

Kupang (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Military will deploy a Sukhoi jet fighter squadron to escort the relocation of two "Bali Nine" narcotic criminals Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan from Bali to Nusakambangan prison in Cilacap, Central Java.

"The Indonesian Military commander has given the order to assist the relocation of the two death defendants. A squadron of Sukhoi jet fighters will be prepared to escort the Hercules aircraft that will be used to transport the defendants. We will also deploy ocean patrol and land forces," Udayana Bali IX Military Commander Mayor General Torry Djohar Banguntoro stated here on Monday.

The patrolling and escort plans are being prepared by the Indonesian Military for the relocation of the convicts.

According to Torry, the military has also prepared raiders and cavalry forces to secure the road access from Kerobokan Prison to Ngurah Rai Airport.

The commander did not divulge details regarding when the defendants will be relocated.

"We cannot disclose the relocation time. However, we are ready to secure the land, air, and sea areas," Torry affirmed.

The commander said the patrolling operations in the border areas will be held as per the routine program.

"There is no special patrolling operation. It will be conducted as usual," Torry noted.

Australian death row convicts Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan have been moved to isolation cells in Denpasar Kerobokan prison, Badung District, Bali.

The death convicts are the members of "Bali Nine," a group of nine drug traffickers who were arrested in Bali while attempting to smuggle narcotics from Thailand to Australia in 2005.
