Ulu o Tokelau to attend American Samoa’s flag raising celebrations

Ulu o Tokelau has accepted an invitation from the government of American Samoa to attend its flag raising celebration on the 17th of this month.

The Ulu o Tokelau, Aliki Faipule Siopili Perez will join the people of American Samoa in celebrating its 115th flag raising day since the United States flag was raised above their territory in 1900.

The celebrations are lively with two-day celebration filled with feasts, parades, cricket matches, the exciting traditional longboat races (fautasi), with plenty of fun traditional dance and music competition.

The Ulu o Tokelau will be accompanied by the first lady, Tase Perez, General Manager, Jovilisi Suveinakama with Miti Ngua-Chun providing assistance.
