Black Trash Trashes Baltimore; White Trash Makes Excuses

Black Trash Trashes Baltimore; White Trash Makes Excuses

For using this title, I shall of course be accused of being a racist—by racists.

I would have preferred "Blacks Behaving Badly," but that's already been taken. If I did use it, the same accusation would be levelled at me by the same racists..

Make no mistake, the real racism in the Baltimore equation is on the part of the sub-humans who are just now fresh from their looting and burning. They and their cheerleaders, black and white. They are the racists, and they are evil.

Their evil has nothing to do with their skin colour, but their beliefs:

*That "the system" is a white conspiracy to hold blacks back;

*that the right to legitimate protest, one of the crowning glories of America, includes "space to destroy" (the black mayor of Baltimore actually said that just before the trashing began. Hats off to Megyn Kelly for running the soundbite over and over, belying the mayor's subsequent denial);

*that as the destruction proceeds, the proper role of the police is to stand, observe and do nothing (this actually happened, after the aforementioned mayor's stand-down order:"Let 'em loot; it's only property");

*that more government programmes are the answer to black poverty (this, after decades of Democratic control of Baltimore and seven years of a black, socialist Democrat in the White House, who now says he has a "bunch" more "stuff" like that in the pipeline);

*that the material well-being of citizens is the government's, not the citizens' responsibility, and government should set taxes at outlandish, economy-crippling rates to discharge that responsibility;

*that citizens who have achieved success by their own efforts are by definition oppressors in positions of privilege from which they should be forcibly toppled;

*that if a black man dies in police custody the guilt of cops, especially white cops, must be assumed before any kind of due process has been observed and in flagrant defiance of the maxim, "innocent till proven guilty";

*that rap-addled black hoodlums are entitled to anything they demand because they are black;

*etc., ad nauseam.

All of these beliefs fuelled the latest outbreak of black trashery and many are racist on their face.

Prominent racists promoting such beliefs are Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Pastor Jamal Bryant, Louis Farrakhan (Nation of Islam), Marc Lamont Hill (Marxist professor and media commentator who has referred to the rioters' "righteous rage"), President Obama and sundry rap-trash.

Among the prominent white trash pandering to such beliefs is Hillary Clinton.

In a promising turn, however, Clinton has called for an end to the default position of "mass incarceration" that might have caught Freddie Gray, a serial drug offender, in its web—thus providing a pretext, albeit threadbare, for the Baltimore riots. The rub is, does she mean it? Republican libertarian Rand Paul has already pointed out that this default position was effected by her husband's Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 that, among other things, created tougher penalties for drug offenders (there are people in jail now for 50 years for victimless marijuana "crimes") and built a bunch, as Obama might say, of new prisons. Hillary Clinton was an active and vocal supporter of that legislation.

One rational, pro-freedom response to Baltimore would be to abolish drug prohibition altogether and thus end the vicious insanity of the War on Drugs and substantially empty the prisons in one fell swoop. Was nothing learned from the catastrophic prohibition of alcohol from 1919 to 1933? Were heroin, the substance in which Freddie Gray was evidently dealing, not criminal, police wouldn't have been wasting their time pursuing him in the first place. Clinton doesn't advocate anything close to ending prohibition, of course; no candidate does, alas—not even Paul the libertarian or the socialist Bernie Sanders, a confessed pot smoker. At the same time, Sanders' and Clinton's Big Government economic policies are precisely the kind that led to the economic decline not just in Baltimore but throughout America that these self-same socialists purport to bemoan. As Ed Hudgins, Senior Scholar at the Atlas Society succinctly puts it:

For decades—in the case of Baltimore, since 1967—Democrats have run major cities and have carried out the welfare state agenda. They redistribute taxpayer money, taken from the most productive enterprises and individuals, to “the poor,” thus posing as wonderful benefactors. Their government employees, who provide them with votes, administer onerous regulations on businesses and entrepreneurs, all the while providing substandard services to the citizens.

And their public employee union allies, especially in the failed schools that are often as dangerous as prisons, block any possibility of reforms. Local economies stagnate. Productive enterprises and individuals flee the city for the suburbs, creating hardships that the same politicians then can promise to solve with more of the same failed policies. And so the cycle has gone on for decades.

In short, another rational, pro-freedom response to Baltimore would be for politicians to repudiate socialism—a thoroughly un-American ideology! Socialism proposes that the government do legally what the trash has done illegally: loot. Such a view of government is incompatible with that of the Declaration of Independence, which proclaims that governments are instituted to secure the rights of each individual to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Comrade Obama has called for nationwide "soul-searching" (a bunch of it, presumably) in a manner reminiscent of that other disaster, Jimmy Carter, who went on national television and lamented the "malaise" afflicting his nation—blithely oblivious to the fact that he was the malaise. The only searching Barack Obama needs to do is in the mirror. He has played the race card at every turn; pushed the mentality of victimhood and entitlement; belittled entrepreneurialism ("if you own a business, you didn't build that"); and implemented socialism as though Zimbabwe were his model, spending non-existent money to an extent from which America might never recover. Obamarx is assuredly not part of the solution; he has contributed palpably to the problem. It is good, and unusual for him, that he called the trash "thugs," but it was he who made a career of the very Political Correctness whereby there was an immediate backlash against his use of that term.

"Black lives matter" has been the thugs' mantra, as though anyone were suggesting otherwise. The homes, cars and businesses that were trashed and torched belonged to blacks. What do the crazed, screaming savages we've seen on television have to say about that? Nothing coherent as best I can tell.

All lives matter—and none is served by looting, assault and arson, or the appeasement thereof. That's a black and white truth that black and white trash should acquaint itself with ... and honour. A bunch.
