Port Elizabeth Religions leaders come together under peace

Port Elizabeth, South Africa On the 25th of February 2016, religious leaders from seven different faiths gathered for a HWPL WARP Office Meeting at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth to look for the will of the creator and interfaith harmony.

Hosted by the Port Elizabeth branch of Heavenly Culture World Peace, Restoration of Light participants of the dialogue included Shri Padayachy representing Hindu faith, Christianity Pastor Paul Smith, Baha i’ Faith Placide Ebongue, Hare Krishna Prabhu Van Lavieren, and Islam Sheikh Adnaan Ebrahim and Imaan Nakhomo.

HWPL WARP Office Meeting is one the of HWPL’s main projects since hosting a world peace summit in 2014. This was initiated by the fact that 80% of conflicts in the world are driven by religious differences. Since the summit, HWPL has established 115 WARP offices in 61 countries around the world where religious leaders can gather monthly to contrast and compare another another's religious texts.

Under the theme, ‘What is the Creator’s will in reference to your scripture’ participants had a lively discussion.

After the meeting, the participants said in unison that through WAPP Office Meeting religions can break down misunderstandings and unite all religions to make world peace a reality.

Desiree Diamonds (a local Scientology representative) stated, "At first, I was very sceptical about how studying scripture could lead to peace. But as we go along I can see that it breaks down the walls and allows people to know each other, which is the whole point of tolerance."

Another participant Sheikh Imaan shared that, “If we were to share what we get to understand through these dialogues with our congregation members, they would really question why we (different religions) fight”, and continues, “I have never believed that religions can come together on one table as we have. It is beautiful and I wish these discussions won’t end here.”

Mr Man-Hee Lee, a war veteran haunted by the images he had of the Korean War (25 June 1950 – 27 July 1953), founded HWPL in May of 2012 with the vision of eliminating war and making peace a reality for this generation. He has actively dedicated his life since then, meeting and uniting politicians and law experts all around the world to achieve peace. In coming March, HWPL will publicly present the Declaration on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace, which includes articles on the most controversial global issues as well as solution.
