CRPD publishes findings
Committee on Rights of Persons with Disabilities
publishes findings on
Portugal,
Thailand, Chile, Slovakia, Serbia, Lithuania and
Uganda
GENEVA (22 April 2016) – The UN
Committee on the Rights of Persons (CRPD) with disabilities
has published findings on the countries it reviewed during
its latest session from 29 March to 21 April: Portugal,
Thailand, Chile, Slovakia, Serbia, Lithuania and
Uganda.
These are among the 163 States that have ratified
the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
and so are required to be reviewed regularly by the
Committee of 18 independent human rights experts.
The
CRPD’s findings, officially termed concluding
observations, cover positive aspects of a State’s
implementation of the Convention and also main areas of
concern and recommendations for action. They are available

The
CRPD will next meet from 15 August to 2 September to review
Bolivia, Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Italy, United Arab
