For Northland: Cloudy today with a few showers about the east coast and in the north. Tomorrow showers may become more extensive.

Auckland and Coromandel Peninsula: The odd shower about Coromandel Peninsula otherwise

mainly fine.

In the west from Waikato to Manawatu also for Bay of Plenty and the

central plateau: Fine today and most places again tomorrow. Cloud increasing north of the central plateau later.

From Gisborne to Wairarapa: Light showers persisting about northern Gisborne today. Further south skies slowly clearing. Tomorrow mainly fine.

Wellington: Fine today. A few cloudy periods tomorrow.

Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury: Fine apart from brief coastal showers about south Canterbury tomorrow.

West of the South Island: Fine weather continuing in most places. Cloud increasing south of the glaciers with rain developing tonight. Tomorrow brief rain spreading further north then becoming fine from the south.

Otago and Southland: Cloud increasing later today. Some brief rain about Southland overnight. spreading to coastal Otago tomorrow morning. Clearing inland during Wednesday but remaining cloudy about the south coast with the odd shower persisting.

Chatham Islands: Showery periods.
