Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow:
In the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau: Cloudy today with a few light showers, showers more frequent and widespread from tomorrow afternoon and evening.
Bay of Plenty and from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Mostly fine today, brief showers in most places tomorrow.
Wellington: cloudy periods today, tomorrow turning showery.
Nelson: Cloudy today. Brief showers tomorrow morning then a clearance.
The South Island west coast: Rain slowly clearing from the south tomorrow.
Marlborough and Canterbury: Dry today with high cloud. Showers spreading north overnight with snow to the main divide then becoming fine from the south during tomorrow.
Otago and Southland: Rain this afternoon and evening then breaking to showers early tomorrow with brief snow to 700 metres. Showers becoming confined to coastal places later with clearing skies inland.
Chatham Island: Showers, more frequent tomorrow with cold southwesterlies.
