Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tonight.

Northland to Taranaki, also for the central plateau and Bay of
Plenty: A period of rain spreading to most places today then
breaking to showers from the west. A few thunderstorms likely
from Hamilton northwards later.

Wanganui to Wellington: Cloudy periods but dry.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Brief rain about northern Hawkes Bay and
Gisborne this afternoon otherwise mainly fine.

The entire South Island: Areas of low cloud and fog about coastal
Canterbury and Otago. In most other areas fine with patchy cloud.
After dark showers may develop about southern Fiordland and
western Southland.

Chatham Islands: Cloudy with a few showers.
