Short Forecast valid to midnight tomorrow:
North and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty: Generally fine today. Tomorrow, cloud increasing with rain developing about western areas late in the day.
Gisborne to Wairarapa: Coastal showers becoming confined to Gisborne. Fine periods increasing from the south this afternoon. Tomorrow, mainly fine.
Wellington: Mainly fine today. Cloud increasing tomorrow with drizzle patches to the northern suburbs later.
Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago: Fine and frosty with a few morning fog patches. High cloud spreading from the west later. Tomorrow, extensive high cloud with rain developing about the alps.
West of the South Island: Cloud increasing today. Drizzle areas about Fiordland. Tomorrow, rain at times.
Southland: Becoming cloudy. A few showers spreading from the west later affecting mostly Stewart Island. Tomorrow, remaining cloudy with patchy rain about the western ranges.
Chatham Islands: Showery today. A mix of cloud and fine breaks tomorrow.
