Short Forecast valid to midnight tomorrow:

North and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty: Mainly fine overnight. Tomorrow, cloud increasing with rain developing about western areas late in the day.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Any remaining showers clearing from Gisborne tonight, otherwise fine. Tomorrow, mainly fine.

Wellington and Nelson: Fine tonight. Cloud increasing tomorrow with scattered rain developing later.

Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago: Becoming cloudy overnight. Tomorrow, cloudy with rain developing about the alps.

West of the South Island: Cloudy tonight with drizzle areas about Fiordland. Tomorrow, rain at times.

Southland: Cloud increasing with a few coastal showers tonight. Tomorrow, cloudy with patchy rain about the western ranges.

Chatham Islands: Showers clearing overnight. A mix of cloud and fine breaks tomorrow.
