Weather Workshop: Short forecast for NZ

Short Forecast valid to midnight tomorrow:

For the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Taranaki, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty: Rain spreading south this evening with isolated thunderstorms likely in Northland and Auckland. Rain not reaching Bay of Plenty and Taupo until tonight. Tomorrow, rain easing to showers from the west later.

Wanganui to Wellington: High cloud thickening this evening with scattered rain developing later. Tomorrow, morning rain easing to showers.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: High cloud for the remainder of today. Outbreaks of rain tomorrow.

Nelson: Cloudy. Outbreaks of rain for the remainder of today. Tomorrow, rain easing to showers from early morning.

The South Island west coast: Periods of rain.

For Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland: High cloud with rain about the alps spreading further east at times. Drizzle developing tomorrow about the Otago and Southland coasts.

Chatham Islands: A mix of cloudy and fine periods.
