Weather Workshop: Short forecast for NZ

Issued 9.40am next issue 3.30pm today

From Northland to Coromandel Peninsula: Cloudy periods. A few light showers in the east becoming more widespread tomorrow.

Waikato down to Wellington, also for the central high country: Mostly fine today. Cloud increasing early tomorrow with drizzle patches later.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Light showers clearing from northern Gisborne today, elsewhere a mix of fine and cloudy periods. Tomorrow mainly fine.

Nelson: Cloud increasing later today. Drizzle from early tomorrow.

West coast of the South Island: Cloud thickening with drizzle developing. Tomorrow rain in most places then a clearance south of the glaciers.

Marlborough to Otago, also for Southland: Fine today. Cloudy tomorrow with brief rain about Otago and Southland.

Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods.
