The north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty: Showers clearing from most places this afternoon then mainly fine. Fine again tomorrow.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Becoming fine today and remaining fine tomorrow.

Wellington, Marlborough and Nelson: Mostly fine.

West of the South Island: Showers turning to drizzly rain this evening. Rain becoming widespread later tomorrow.

Canterbury, Otago and Southland: Drizzle patches about coast clearing this afternoon. Mainly fine inland. Tomorrow, mainly fine but high cloud increasing later in the day.

Chatham Islands: A period of rain today. Mostly cloudy tomorrow with a few showers.
