Short Forecast issued by Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow:

The north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central high country: Cloudy periods today with a few showers. More frequent showers spreading north from early tomorrow and colder. Snow lowering about the ranges and likely to affect the Desert Road later.

Bay of Plenty: Rain clearing from the west today. A few showers tomorrow.

In the east from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Cloudy periods at first. Overnight colder showery southerlies spreading north with snow to the ranges.

Wellington. Turing much colder from late tonight with widespread showers. Snow to the ranges.

Nelson and the South Island west coast: Showers clearing overnight and mostly fine tomorrow.

Marlborough to Otago also for Southland: Rain and southerlies working north reaching Marlborough by evening. Snow to near sea level about Otago and Southland and 300 metres in Canterbury. About Marlborough snow likely to 500 metres overnight. During tomorrow snow levels rising with showers retreating to the coast. Fine periods increasing inland.

Chatham Islands: Rain easing to showers early tomorrow. Turing much colder with sleet.
