Weather Workshop: Short forecast for NZ

Short Forecast issued by Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow:

The north and west of the North Island from Northland to Wellington, also for the central plateau: Rain for the remainder of today. Northwest winds to gale about Wellington and strong and gusty in many other places for a time. Tomorrow rain gradually clearing from the south.

Bay of Plenty and from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Cloudy with rain and northwesterly gales about Wairarapa and falls spreading elsewhere overnight then a gradual clearance working north tomorrow.

Nelson and Marlborough: Rain clearing overnight and mostly fine tomorrow.

South Island west coast: Widespread rain clearing from the south this overnight then fine at first tomorrow. Cloud then increasing with rain developing south of the glaciers towards evening.

Canterbury and Otago: Rain about the western ranges with brief falls further east at times. Northwest gales in some exposed places easing tonight. Tomorrow mainly fine but a few coastal showers possible.

Southland: Coastal showers persisting with northwesterlies easing. Brief rain inland. Tomorrow coastal showers but fine breaks inland.

Chatham Islands: Rain easing to showers tomorrow.
