From Northland to Taranaki, also for the central plateau: Remaining coastal showers clearing overnight. Elsewhere, fine.

Bay of Plenty to Taupo also Wanganui to Manawatu and Nelson: Fine.

In the east from Gisborne to Canterbury also for Wellington: Fine today. Tomorrow, morning cloud and a few brief coastal showers clearing and becoming fine.

South Island west coast: Showers and fine spells today. A few showers about Fiordland tomorrow but mainly fine elsewhere.

Otago and Southland: A few showers spreading north tonight. Tomorrow, cloudy at times about the coast but fine inland.

Chatham Islands: Cold and showery.
