For the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for Bay of Plenty and the central plateau: Fine weather apart from cloudy periods. Tomorrow, cloud increasing along western areas, mostly fine elsewhere.

In the east from Gisborne to Wairarapa, also for Wellington: Remaining light showers about Gisborne clearing. Fine elsewhere. Fine everywhere tomorrow.

Nelson, Marlborough to Otago, also Southland: High cloud increasing overnight then showers and southwesterlies spread north tomorrow reaching Nelson and Marlborough well after dark.

South Island west coast: Cloud increasing. Rain about Fiordland spreading further north overnight. Tomorrow, showers and southwesterlies clearing from the south.

Chatham Islands: Showers clearing overnight. Cloudy with gusty northwesterlies tomorrow.
