Major restrictions at Beach Road intersection
Transit New Zealand advises all road users in the Grafton Gully area that there will be major restrictions to traffic movements at the Beach Road/Stanley Street/Parnell Rise/The Strand intersection in Parnell this weekend.
Between 8pm Friday 8 August and 5am Monday 11 August motorists are advised to avoid the area and consider alternative routes where possible because contractors will be working at the intersection all weekend.
During the closure the following traffic movements will not be possible:
No straight-through access from Parnell Rise/The Strand to Beach Road.
No right turn from Stanley Street into Parnell Rise/The Strand.
All other traffic movements will be possible and all detours will be clearly signposted.
The work is part of an eight-week programme that involves working on the intersection every weekend until mid-September. The work is weather permitting, and in the event of inclement weather, will be postponed until the next clear weekend.
