Clevedon Library Extends Its Hours

Manukau City Council advises that Clevedon Library volunteers have extended the opening hours of the Clevedon Library. The library is now opening Thursday morning from 10.30a.m. until 12 noon. Opening hours for Tuesday evening and Saturday morning will remain the same.

The extended hours are in response to recommendations made by Clevedon residents to Council’s Rural Library Review conducted earlier this year.

Linda Bown, Council’s Children and Rural Services Co-ordinator says, “There are a growing number of pre-school children in Clevedon and the extended opening time is intended to attract more from this age group.

“New books ranging from board books, ABCs, counting books and picture books have been added to the library stock to cater for the under fives.”

The library will continue to provide recreational reading for older children and adults. Large print books will also be available for senior citizens.

“It is hoped that by extending our opening hours to three days a week, library usage will increase”, says Linda.
