Public consultation closes on Auckland City’s draft annual plan
The public consultation period for Auckland City’s Draft Annual Plan 2005/2006 closed at 5pm on Friday 20 May. Some 523 submissions had been received.
More submissions are arriving today by mail.
Last year’s Long-term council community plan received 669 submissions.
The main issues identified in the submissions so far are the proposed rates increase, transport issues and council’s support of community development and housing.
“We will be analysing the submissions more closely this week and will have a summary of the issues highlighted by 31 May,” said Steve McDowell, manager democracy services.
Submitters who want to be heard will be allocated a time to speak to council about their submission between 7 and 10 June.
The council will consider all submissions and finalise the annual plan at a meeting of the council’s combined committees on 22 – 24 June. The final annual plan will be published on 22 July.
