London Double Decker bus at Sunday Funday(8 Oct) at Upper Hutt City Library
The first day of Sunday opening at Upper Hutt City Library will be turned into fun and celebration, says Library Manager Jeff Cabral.
Full extended seven day operation of the library is marked with hours extended 10am to 4pm on Saturday followed by 10am - 4pm on Sunday. The celebrations on "Sunday Funday" run from 12 midday until 3pm. The London based Double Decker bus will be making special trips around the city. It leaves near McDonalds at Silverstream at 11.30am for the library. Free seats can be booked on 527-2141 - returning around 3pm. Another special trip is planned from Timberlea - bookings at Timberlea Community House. It will also do several trips around the city calling near the railway station, library, Maidstone Max, Trentham City Shopping Centre, Countdown and Pak 'n Save in Pine Ave. Blue Mountains Harley Tours will have a bike on hand for sitting on and taking photos (remember to bring your camera!). Everyone using the library on Sunday will go into the draw for one of two one hour Harley ride prizes. Mayor Wayne Guppy will cut the celebration cake at midday. The library are supplying a free sausage sizzle served by Rimutaka Lions Club alongside their food caravan. There will be inflatables for the kids, face painting and the slippery pig rodeo outside the main Council building. The full range of library services will be available. Books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers to read, internet and photocopying are all available. People wishing to sign up as new subscribers can do so this Sunday. There is plenty of free parking available to the front and rear of the library.
