Manurewa Residents Incorporated

“In October 2006 I formed an incorporated society called Manurewa Residents Incorporated, which was set up to provide an appropriate governance structure. We subsequently decided to stand under the name Manurewa ACTION Team, which is consistent with our desire to champion new leadership; change around the council table; and a challenge to the failed policies of the present council.

“None of the four Manurewa ward councillors have ever been members of that incorporated society.

“After the 2007 local government election, I and my fellow team candidates will lodge election expense returns that show that the cost of the campaign waged by us was funded through our own contributions and donations. If the incorporated society that I chair is wound up in the future, any assets held by that society will be transferred as per the rules of that society,” Daniel Newman said.
