125 years old and still going strong
This year is the 125th anniversary of the Devonport Volunteer Fire Brigade and they want it to be a year to remember. Celebrations and other events are planned for the weekend of the 4th and 5th of December, including a station open day, modern and vintage fire engines and fun for the kids. The first Devonport fire engine, a Model T Ford will be on display. This rare engine was purchased for the brigade in 1916. They will also be restoring graves of past brigade members who lost their lives in the line of duty.
“To help fund the celebrations we are running four unique and exciting auctions on Trademe. The four winners will experience what it is like to be a fire fighter!” says Andrew Curham , Station Officer Devonport Volunteer Fire Brigade. Check out all the details by searching ‘Fire Fighter Experience of a lifetime’ on Trademe or visit their website for the link www.dvfb.org.nz
