A Human Rights Approach to Making Positive Changes to Policy

The Coalition for the Safety of Women and Children and DVD, the Domestic Violence and Disability Working Group, invite you to an exciting, innovative and thought provoking workshop.

Moving Towards Change:
A Human Rights Approach to Making Positive Changes to Policy and Practice

This introductory workshop will help participants to understand New Zealand and international Human Rights frameworks and how Human Rights legislation can be used to improve practice and policy related to domestic and sexual violence. The topics we will cover are:

Presenter: Kris Gledhill is a lecturer at Auckland University Law School. His research and teaching interests include comparative international human rights law, mental health and prison law.

Who is this training for?

All staff from domestic and sexual violence agencies, disability support staff, health professionals, community workers, social workers, therapists, health and social service agency staff, police, lawyers, other people who may interact with people who are victims of sexual and/or domestic violence.

Cost: $40 per person

Date: Tuesday 28 February 2012

Time: 9.30 – 330pm. Lunch will be provided.

Venue: CCS Disability Action, 14 Erson Ave, Royal Oak (This venue is fully accessible.)

Parking: There is plenty of accessible parking in the grounds. Other participants are asked to park in the adjacent streets where there is always plenty of parking and a walk in the fresh air.
