Countdown Northwood closed for repairs

Countdown Northwood closed for repairs

8 March 2012: Countdown Northwood has today closed to enable urgent strengthening of part of the Northwood Supa Centa to take place.

Late this afternoon, Countdown received engineering reports from our landlord assessing the seismic strength of the building.

Managing Director of Countdown, Mr Dave Chambers, said the report identified the need for urgent repairs and the store was instructed to close immediately.

“We've made the decision to act on this immediately to be absolutely certain that the store is safe,” Mr Chambers said.

“We acknowledge that this will be an inconvenience but the safety of our customers and team is our first priority and we will not compromise that.

“We will be working closely with our landlord who will be undertaking the repairs which could take a number of days.

“We will continue to provide work for our team members at our other stores in the area,” he said.
