Last night and this morning’s heavy rain and gale force winds have caused wide spread surface flooding in the Whangarei District. Roading information is supplied below. New information will be added in blue.

There is flooding on the following roads:
Ngunguru Road
SH1 Whakapara
Whananaki North Road
Matipo Place
Marua Road
Otonga Road
Kokopu Rd
Russell Rd (Punuruku)

There are trees or slips on the following roads:
Russell Rd (Helena Bay Hill)
Peach Orchard Rd
Kaiatea Road
Springs Flat

Council contractors are assessing and where possible working to clear all main roads. The public is advised to avoid travelling in the affected areas today take great care on the District’s roads today and over the next few days.
