Time is short for those wanting to nominate organisations and individuals for consideration to receive these prestigious Awards.

Help us to recognise excellence, achievement and innovation in water safety by sending in your nominations.

The Sealord New Zealand Water Safety Awards 2012 are open to any individual or organisation contributing to water safety education, prevention and awareness in New Zealand.

Last year’s winners were impressive but don’t be intimidated, no project is too big or too small to be considered. Whether it’s a grassroots initiative or a national policy, if it fits the award criteria, we want to receive a nomination.

Education: Swim Safe Southland
Prevention: Maritime New Zealand - Folau Malu (Safer Journeys) Campaign
Awareness: Christchurch City Council Recreations and Sports Unit, Swim Education Team
Individual Award for Outstanding Contribution to water safety: Paul Caffyn – Kiwi Association of Sea Kayakers
