The Great British Car Rally in Wellington

The Great British Car Rally will be in Wellington next week.

Over 210 classic and modern British cars and their drivers will arrive in Wellington at 6.00 p.m. on Wednesday the 20th of February to a Parliamentary reception at the Banquet Hall in Parliament.

The next morning, on Thursday the 21st of February, there will be a promenade of the cars for the public on Taranaki Wharf from 7.30 a.m with an official welcome by the Mayor, Celia Wade-Brown at 9 a.m.

From 8.00 a.m. there will be a bacon buttie breakfast organised by one of the charities raising money in the rally, Save the Children. The car rally is aiming to raise money for the Starship Foundation, Save the Children, the Christchurch City Mission and Canterbury’s Stepping Stone Trust.

A travelling Trade and Investment Roadshow will also be held on the waterfront behind the Mac’s Brewery.
