Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter yesterday afternoon at 4:15pm.

4.15 pm HKZ Muriwai Responded to Muriwai for a male who was stuck on the rocks at the beach. He was winched off and left with the police.

The helicopter conducted a search and rescue at Muriwai yesterday afternoon at 4.15pm.

The male picked up off the rocks was Brando Yelavich who is doing a charity walk down New Zealand. He mentions the rescue on his facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/RunningFullaNZ

The funds raised from his walk will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. He was walking along Muriwai when he dropped his GPS down a cliff. He abseiled down to get it and got stuck. He was winched out by the helicopter team and left on the beach.
