Change in departure time – Queen Mary 2

The Queen Mary 2 arrived at Ports of Auckland this morning to a warm welcome from Aucklanders.

There has however, been a change to the departure time with the luxury ocean liner now set to leave Auckland at 2100hrs tonight.

Good vantage points to watch the vessel sail out of Auckland, lit up for the night’s journey include:

Between 9:00pm and 9:30pm

Ports of Auckland public walkway alongside the Fergusson container terminal (no parking available)
Fred Ambler Lookout, Gladstone Road, Parnell
Mt Victoria, North Head and Devonport Wharf on the North Shore
East Coast Bays beaches

From 9:30pm

Areas along the east coast of the North Shore as the ship rounds Rangitoto Island

The ship will be carrying up to 2,700 passengers and crew.
