This afternoon Taupo's Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was called to the Tongariro Crossing to a 22 year old German woman with a suspected fractured ankle. while in transit we were notified of a second 17 year old Tauranga woman also with a suspected fractured ankle.

Both women were retrieved at the same time and flown to Taupo hospital.
