Affordable Auckland Recruiting Candidates

Affordable Auckland is seeking candidates to stand in the 2013 local body elections for Auckland Council. Vacancies exist in the following wards for Council:

· Albany
· Albert-Eden-Roskill
· Manukau
· Manurewa-Papakura
· Maungakiekie-Tamaki
· North Shore
· Rodney
· Waitakere
· Whau

Affordable Auckland currently has candidates in Waitemata & Gulf and Franklin. The party will not be standing against the incumbents of Orakei and Howick wards.

Vacancies also exist on all local boards and liquor licensing boards.

Applicants need to fit the following criteria

· Be 18 years old and eligible to vote in New Zealand
· Be of good character
· Become a member of Affordable City, the national umbrella of which Affordable Auckland is a member party – visit www.affordable.org.nz/join-donate to join.
· Support Affordable City’s five core principles – rates cuts, balanced budgets, funding only core council activities, affordable housing and restoring private property rights.
