Motocrosser flown to hospital

This afternoon the Tauranga based trustPower TECT Rescue helicopter was called to Awakaponga motocross track near Edgecumbe. A 15 year old Whakatane male received spinal injuries when he crashed his motocross bike during a race. He was stabilised at the scene by medics before being flown to Tauranga hospital in a moderate condition.
