World Cerebral Palsy Day is 2 October

What:         World Cerebral Palsy Day 2013

When:       October 2nd 2013

Where:      Globally

World Cerebral Palsy Day is a global innovation project to change the world for people living with cerebral palsy and their families. It is designed to gather ideas from people around the world and make the best of those ideas a reality.

Piloted in 2012, the campaign seeks ideas from people with cerebral palsy and their families for something that would “change their world” and can be explained in 1 minute.

The global public can vote for the best ideas on the world Cerebral Palsy Day Website, with the winning idea receiving a prize of US $500.

In January 2014, the World Cerebral Palsy Day Panel will shortlist 3 ideas, and call for inventors and researchers to create a prototype or design. They will compete for a prize pool of $US 50,000.

One of the best ideas so far this year has come from a New Zealand Mum http://ideas.worldcpday.org/a/dtd/Mud-Socks-for-power-wheelchair/506466-18868

To find out how you can support this great idea to become a reality for New Zealanders living with Cerebral Palsy check out the World Cerebral Palsy Day Website. http://en.worldcpday.org

In New Zealand the Cerebral Palsy Society provides resources, grants, information and practical support to thousands of kiwis living with Cerebral Palsy, and wants to help even more.

If you or someone you know is living with Cerebral Palsy please contact the Cerebral Palsy Society and let them help change your world in 1 minute. http://www.cpsociety.org.nz
