Auckland’s Port stops to pay respects

Over 1,000 lights to be turned off across the Waitematā Seaport this ANZAC Day

Ports of Auckland will turn off its lights and stop working during the ANZAC Day dawn service 6am to 6:40am on Friday 25 April.

“Turning off the lights and stopping work during the service has become a tradition at the Port. It is a small way for us to honour those that fought for New Zealand,” Ports of Auckland Chief Executive Tony Gibson said.
