Nominations close for Wairoa District Council by-election

Nominations closed today at noon for the Wairoa District Council councillor by-election. A by-election is being held on 17 February 2015, following the recent resignation of a Wairoa District Council councillor.

A postal ballot for Wairoa District Council electors will commence on Tuesday 27 January 2015 with the delivery of voting documents.

Voting documents can be returned by post or hand delivered to the Wairoa District Council offices (Coronation Square, Queen Street, Wairoa), between Tuesday 27 January 2015 and Monday 16 February 2015 during normal office hours, and Tuesday 17 February 2015 until noon.

A person can apply to enrol as either a residential or ratepayer elector up to and including Monday 16 February 2015 – the day before the close of voting.
