Tourist rescued from Tongariro

Yesterday afternoon The Greenlea rescue helicopter was call to Blythe Hut in Tongariro National park for a injured Canadian tourist who had fallen down a steep rocky slope and broken her ankle. Because of the steep slope she was recovered using a rescue strop and then flown to Rotorua Hospital
