Deceased Student’s Family Supported by Wellington Institute of Technology

Boobesh Palani was in 2014 a student at the Wellington Institute of Technology. Since the sad passing of Boobesh, WelTec staff have been working with Police to assist with identifying Boobesh and to support his fellow students, tutors and our staff.

WelTec’s International staff have been in constant touch with the Hospital, the Police, and his family in India. One of our managers who is currently travelling to India is on his way to visit Boobesh’s family to provide support in person.

WelTec continues to liaise with the student’s insurer Allianz Global Assistance and ACC over the matter.

“I would like to pay tribute to our staff in the International Directorate and the wider WelTec who have liaised with Police, Hospital, friends and family,” says WelTec Chief Executive Linda Sissons.
